A little introduction to who we are

We are William, Ava , Sander and Danielle sailing on our Sailboat called Susie Jane with our cat Nova
Our Boat

Our Boat

Susie Jane is a Dufour Gib'Sea 43 sailboat built-in 2002. One of 60 designed by J & J Design and built in France by Dufour between 2000 to 2004. She is just over 13 meters in length, with a draft of 1.7m and a beam of 4.27m. She has four cabins and two heads, with a comfortable living area. We have solar panels and a water-maker to assist in becoming as self-sufficient as possible.

Our Story

Our Story

When Sander and I (Danielle) met in 2010, our dream was to explore the world, and sailing seemed the most cost-effective and eco-friendly approach. At this point, it was a dream we could not fund. After many years of putting this dream on the back burner, we (plus two young children and a cat) took the plunge and exchanged our Hampshire lifestyle for a simpler life.

Our Journey

Our Journey

With no set plan or destination, we aim to reach the Marquesas Islands at some point in our journey. Our route will follow the tradewinds across the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. We want to explore the world as long as we physically can and hope to provide our children with a positive outlook on our planet and appreciate its diversities.
